The thing is Taylor on Red abandoned the genre as whole and moved to pop. I hate Florida Georgia Line, so I’m not defending them, but I think that’s why. Taylor never really was 100% country, so when she dropped it completely, it was a smack in the face to country music.

See, I understand this but when Taylor first started in country she was sixteen and still finding herself. She never signed a contract saying she would stay in this genre forever. She has her roots in country and that’s what matters. At the end of the day Country is where she came from and where she grew up, and if the CMA’s still invite her and give her awards, and the other artists respect her then that’s really all there is to it. I’m not trying to be argumentative at all, just expressing my opinion. it’s just in the business you have to experiment with your lyrics and songs and just go with it. Country isn’t like it used to be, it’s not nearly as good as it was when George Strait was huge and popular. Country is turning more pop than anything. I love Country music, less than about ten years ago, but things change and you have to accept that without hating on the artists like most of the people on my dashboard right now.
